Edible Gardens by Craig Castree
Edible gardens v's vegetable gardens - let me take you on a journey to explore the difference
Our food has become a stranger to us, we don't know where it comes from nor do we know how fresh it is, or what is has been sprayed or fertilised with? Supermarkets have been caught out telling people that they sell fresh produce only to find that it is 4 months old in cold storage, and that is just the tip of the iceberg of what is really going on. I am afraid that food security lies in our backyards.
“There is nothing better than eating fruit and vegetables fresh from your own backyard” says Craig. The difference between having a vegetable garden and having an edible garden is fully explored in Craig’s 1st book 'Edible Gardens: A Practical Guide.’
Craig loves talking to people about how to set up their own garden. Craig has a positive outlook and believes people can easily learn to make healthier and more sustainable choices. Craig is also a cheese maker, an apiarist, and has worked as an educator for the Gordon Institute and presented on 'Vasili's Garden to Kitchen’ program on Channel 31.
